Alien Card Fees and Limits

We keep card costs simple and honest. There is no fee to open your card and no monthly or annual fee. You only pay a small conversion fee when you spend in a currency other than the currency of your card. The card is issued and operated by Wirex, so the amounts below follow Wirex’s card pricing.

What you pay

Spending limits

Your card has a spending limit of up to £30,000 per day and £30,000 per month. You can set your own daily limit below this maximum in the app, and change it at any time. Your current limits are always shown on your card screen.

Limits can depend on your level of identity verification and are set by Wirex. Completing additional verification when requested can allow higher limits.

Your cards

• The Alien Card is a virtual card you manage in the app. Physical cards and ATM cash withdrawals are not available.

• You can hold up to 5 virtual cards.

• Cards are valid for 3 years.

Restricted currencies and merchant categories

Wirex and the card network do not allow the card to be used for certain merchant categories or currencies. If a payment is declined for one of these reasons, that restriction — not a fee — is the cause.

Restricted merchant categories include:

• Wholesale drugs and druggist sundries

• Chemicals and allied products

• Direct marketing (insurance, travel, and outbound telemarketing)

• Dating and escort services

• Massage parlours

• Online gambling

Payments in the following currencies are not supported: Bangladeshi taka (BDT), Bahraini dinar (BHD), Belarusian ruble (BYN), Pakistani rupee (PKR), Russian ruble (RUB), and Saudi riyal (SAR).

Availability, fees, and limits can vary by country and may change over time. Any such change is set by Wirex.
