Privacy in Alien
Privacy Preserving Verification
Alien’s Continuous Human Verification Protocol (CHVP) requests only necessary information that it doesn’t store, creating cryptographic confirmations like hashes and merkle roots rather than raw personal data. This is supported by the network’s Frame infrastructure, which ensures that computations occur within MPC-based TEEs and data is shielded from access or modification.

Permissionless Data Ownership
The verifiable and mathematically guaranteed privacy of the decentralized Alien Network, enables users to exist online while retaining full control over their data and identity. This extends to transfers on the network. The Alien Network supports privacy-preserving transfers for all transactions, whether between Alien IDs or Sessions. These transfers are un-linkable to any identity, ensuring users can freely manage and move their data and assets while maintaining complete privacy and ownership.
Ephemeral Identity
Users alone decide when and with whom to share their information. This creates a framework where individuals have complete authority over their identity attributes, enabling secure management of their identity across different contexts and platforms through cryptographically derived, temporary sub-identities called Sessions, which function as ephemeral identities for privacy-preserving interactions.
Anonymity and Pseudoanonymity
Through Alien's Frame architecture and the use of cryptographic confirmations, users can exist online anonymously — having an Alien ID signals to others that you’re a verified human. When you use your Alien ID to sign in to other services or platforms, they may request access to your verified information. This data is only shared with your explicit consent, and you control what you share each time.
Verified and Public profile
Your Alien ID contains two profiles: a verified profile only you can see, and a public profile that others see on the network. Your verified profile contains the information you provided during verification, while your public profile is what you choose to share — you can use any picture and name you prefer.
