Why full contacts access is needed?

To invite others and earn invite rewards in Alien, you need to grant access to your contacts. The invitation system is based on a social graph "web of trust" model - it simply verifies that people know each other by existing in each other's phone books.

Privacy is managed through full encryption and a TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) system built by Alien, so nobody - not even the Alien team - can see this data. Phone numbers are hashed on your device and anonymized, meaning only hashed values are stored in the TEE, fully encrypted with MPC-based keys.
